THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, the smart, provocative and wickedly funny theatrical adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel about spiritual warfare from a demon’s point of view, will be presented for two performances only at the DeVos Performance Hall, 303 Monroe Avenue NW, Grand Rapids, Saturday, June 23 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Along with The Chronicles of Narnia (including The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe), The Great Divorce and Mere Christianity, THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS is still one of Lewis’ most popular and influential works. The book’s piercing insight into human nature and the lucid and humorous way Lewis makes his readers squirm in self recognition made it an immediate success. When first published in 1942 it brought worldwide fame to this little-known Oxford don including the cover of Time Magazine. The performance schedule for THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS is Saturday, June 23 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets range from $29 – $59. There are a limited number of premium seats available for $89. For groups of 10 or more (including student groups) call 866.476.8707. Unique Worship Opportunity – Sunday evening in the Sanctuary, 6pm: Join Pastor Heidi and Tim and several gifted instrumentalists for a short worship service in the tradition of Taizé: Taizé is a small community in the hills of Burgundy in eastern France. This worshiping community began in the 1940′s under the leadership of Brother Roger as an ecumenical community with a very Reformed flavor. It has become the center for thousands of worshipers from all around the world, most of them young, who come there each summer. Worship is the nourishing center of life at Taizé. Brother Roger has written, “Nothing is more conducive to a communion with the living God than a meditative common prayer with, at its high point, singing that never ends and that continues to the silence of one’s heart when one is alone again.”

Church Library Update: The library computer system is back up and running after being down for over a month. During this transition some information may have been lost. Please feel free to contact Kristine if incorrect information has been sent to you. I apologize for this inconvenience.
